The Climate Resilience Committee is proposing installing solar panels on the Pool House and the Maintenance Shop. A town hall on the topic was held on Aug. 22, 2026. Below are files from the meeting. The numbers in the calculator are very conservative. You can change them. For example, set the rate of the expected yearly increase in electric rates to 5%, which is more likely than the number we used, 3.86%.
There are four scenarios presented in the calculator. We possibly could meet the grandfathered 1:1 net metering rate. Otherwise, the 6 cents successor rate is considered to be most likely. This is the rate SMECO pays us for energy we generate, but don't immediately use at the pool or the shop.
